The tiny Chapel of the Knights of the Thistle was one of my favorite parts of the whole trip! It was so cool to hear the guide explain how the knights were chosen and how their coats of arms were created, etc. And the fact that only the people who are in the room during the ceremony ever get to really see what’s going on because they don’t video tape or anything makes it even more intriguing. I LOVED IT!

So crazy to think that these objects have been around and have stayed intact for so long. I think the combination door is where the Jewels are kept at night. I wish we would have had more time, less rain and less crowds at the castle. We missed seeing a lot of it due to our schedule.

We definitely need to go back to Edinburgh for a longer visit.

Let me know if you guys need help with moving and/or painting. I love painting. I DO recommend you pick colors (other than white) for any rooms that are going to have big pieces of furniture (bedroom, living room, kitchen) in them. Moving the furniture later to re-paint them is gonna be a pain in the you know where.

We have a bed that we won’t be needing anymore. It’s yours if you want it. Currently we have been using it for guests. But once the baby comes we won’t need a guest bed. Sorry guests!

Let me know. The bed is a Queen size mattress w/box spring and bed frame. No head board or foot board. And we have lots of bedding for it that won’t fit on our bed. The bed frame could be replaced our family has had since the 80′s and bed frames at costco are $35

Yay, yay, YAY! Listing all the changes makes me want to come over and help, although I’m sure you’re glad that I’m far enough away that I can’t smother you with “suggestions”. Seriously though, if you need any help on pros and cons for various choices I’d be happy to help. Thirty years of home ownership has taught us a few things. I’ll have to check out Pinterest to see what you have there. I’m sure you’ll make it amazing! Can’t wait to see it! Let us know when you’ll have a house warming so we can plan to be there.
