Yes, you can swim with sharks in the wild.
Last year, when we went down to San Diego to visit our friend (and former bridesmaid) Jamie, she let us know that Leopard Sharks come to La Jolla every year so you can snorkel with them. In the wild. Not in a tank.
Awesome.
And we have committed to going back every year.
So. Since we were 1/2 down there anyway…. (because of Lobsterfest) … we headed on down to San Diego to visit Jamie and Zack and the sharks.
And Andrew and I pretty much invited everyone we know to come along … Andrew’s cousin Chris as well as Daniel and Jenae came!
But, when we got to town, the FIRST thing we had to do was …. check out Zack and Jamie’s backyard. They have an AMAZING backyard garden AND two desert tortoises …
Andrew is in love with tortoises and is obsessed with the idea of having tortoises walking around our one-day backyard …
We stopped by a grocery store to get sandwiches for lunch, and then on to La Jolla for a bit of a picnic and sharks.
Andrew and I invested in snorkeling equipment for the future …. So excited about just having this gear for fun!
(Next, I want to find an umbrella for the beach. I don’t think I’m a big fan of sitting in the sun)

We got there at low tide, but it came back in pretty quickly …
We really had a lot of fun!
Zack wasn’t able to come along, but we did get to see him (I like Zack. He’s all kinds of awesome )
Can’t wait to go next year. But hopefully we’ll see Jamie and Zack before then!
