I love Harry Connick Jr.

With all my heart.

Everything about him.

So, when we were at the Hollywood Bowl in July … and saw a poster for Harry Connick Jr coming to the Hollywood Bowl, OBVIOUSLY we had to check if there were still tickets!

Obviously.

This time my mom, grandma and aunt came out from Phoenix. Kind of a girls’ weekend + Andrew at the Bowl.

We got Cici’s Cafe for our picnic dinner … .

This was my 3rd time seeing Harry Connick Jr.

3rd time in maybe 10 years or so.

Yes. I love him. A lot.

However. He came out for the first act looking like a bit of a hot mess. (photo below)

Turns out he had spent the day at Universal Studios with his daughter. ….. sunburnt face and greasy hair totally made sense then …

The first act was much more standards-heavy. A lot more of his songs with the LA Philharmonic …

My grandma was pretty happy she knew the words to all the songs

The second act started …

Harry was cleaned up a little bit more …

And this act was a lot …. looser.

More freestyle. More … ‘white trash’ as he called it

He had this stand-up kind of honky tonk piano brought out for the 2nd act ….

and (of course) it was super fantastic …

Part way through he brought out his friend – trombone player Lucian Barbarin.

And THAT is when the fun started

You can TOTALLY tell that they are SUCH good friends.

And I was totally jealous….

They played together. They danced together. It was all kinds of awesome.

Part of when Lucian was playing …. Harry did some tap-dancing….. Love him.

Then, nearer the end, he started playing the trumpet….

Oh my word.

I WISH. I wish wish wish that I was friends with Harry Connick Jr.

He puts on THE BEST BEST BEST show.

So funny. So charming. So talented.

So gorgeous.

I love him.
