Enough about me. What do YOU think about me?
Ah, the narcissism of blogging.
In all sincerity, I really would love to know what you think about Those Crazy Schuberts (the blog – let’s not start pointing out MY faults).
So far, I know Linda loves the Etcetera posts. And I know Andrew loves everything I do.
I don’t like to lead such discussions too deliberately – but I hope that the discussion is better if I give a few general questions to stimulate the conversation. So here are some areas you might like to comment on:
- Topics – are there topics (specific or general) you’d like covered in the coming months? I am thinking about breaking off the art/scrapbooking/inspiration side of my brain to a completely separate stand-alone blog. What do you think? Would you visit 2 blogs if they were both updated frequently? would you like to see more of that kind of topic mixed in here with the travel photos and birthday parties?
- Types of Posts - reader questions, tutorials, how-to, lists, recommendations, stories of our adventures, photo-centric … . have your say about what you’d like most/least
- Posting Frequency – too many posts, not enough, just right?
- Design – thinking about moving from the magazine layout to one more basic (1 or 2-column, etc)
- Blog Features – what would make your reader experience better?
- Community – do you feel you connect well with other readers? Do you want to? Are there features that you’d like added to help connect more?
- What Frustrates You about ThoseCrazySchuberts? What is Best about it?
- Other Ideas and Feedback – anything goes, big or little.
The ‘Rules’ – Any feedback, suggestions, dreams or ideas that you have are welcome. While I can’t promise to respond to each comment or put every suggestion into place I make a commitment to you to read anything you have to say.
All that I ask in return is that you be honest, courteous and constructive with your feedback.
ThoseCrazySchuberts.com is a project that I pour a lot of time and effort into — just ask Andrew. Because of that effort, I want to make sure that it’s worth it for YOU. Because, without you I’d just be talking to myself …
Please check out the survey below.
In addition, Feel free to either leave your feedback in comments below or to share them privately with me via email.

Would be good to add “none of the above” and “all of the above” to some of the survey questions.
The only suggestion I have is to spread the Craft DIY links over more days. If there are a lot of them in one post, then I don’t usually have time to look at them all and I never get back to it, even though I want to. Maybe just post one or two a day.
I read it all…pretty much.
I don’t usually read the “Rick Steve’s” excepts just because I know I’ll never remember what I read about anyway. I love the photos! I love it when Andrew blogs too.
I’ve told you numerous times that the Etceteras were my favorite – so why does only Linda get credit? (but I’ll acknowledge that she’s always been very wise) I like having a post with 15 different topics/ideas in it, and just following or pursuing the ones I find interesting.
Always love the pix, no matter the topic! (unless it’s people I don’t know, and then I can just let someone else enjoy them)
Personally, I glaze over at anything crafty- or decor-related. Skip right past ‘em. And anything wedding-venue related, etc. goes into that category for me. Therefore, I recommend you splitting it off into another blog, so that I can ignore it completely (but people like your mother will still be happy).
And, while I enjoy your travel sections, I have to admit that they can tend to get lengthy. As much as I enjoyed reading about Italy at first…by the time I was in the 73rd entry, and realized that we were still on day one, I pretty much gave up. Sorry. (but you asked!)
Finally, I don’t think you tell us nearly often enough about how amazing Andrew is. More! More!
I think I prefer a one or two column style for a personal blog, because I think people just want to scroll down through the recent stories and photos. This magazine style would be perfect for a separate craft blog though.
Also you might consider featuring more photos of Eleanor. I know that our traffic is directly related to the number of posts with Eleanor photos and/or stories. People can’t get enough of that girl! Although maybe Andrew is your Eleanor, so maybe more adorable Andrew stories and pictures. Like getting him to go to bed at night or learning to use the potty.
It’s always fun getting a peek into the lives of Those Crazy Schuberts. Because of you I’m excited that Menchie’s may be coming to Arizona, and I have Mad Men on hold at the library!
Definitely nix the Rick Stevens excerpts. I care how you felt/what you learned about the experience, not what Rick Stevens wants me to care about/know.
