A few weeks ago, when Maggie started thinking about Eleanor’s birthday, she asked her almost-2-year-old what kind of party she wanted.
Last year the theme was Winter ONE-derland for Eleanor’s first birthday, but now maybe Eleanor is old enough to be able to choose for herself?
Maggie: Eleanor, what kind of birthday party do you want?
Eleanor: Andrew
I wonder what THAT would look like!
Strangely – Maggie and Josh don’t always let the 2-year-old decide things.
So, last week Andrew and I went to a ‘Blues Clues‘- themed birthday party for Eleanor ….She probably liked it just as much!
She understands the concept, but still needed a little help from mommy to blow out her candles …
For a 2-year-old eating a cupcake, Eleanor was strangely meticulous.
Who is depriving her of a real childhood?
After cupcakes, about 20 adults sat around and watched a 2 year old coming down from a sugar rush try to open birthday gifts ….. She got distracted easily
Luckily, Aunt Beth was there to help her ….
And for her ‘big’ gift …. a tricycle!!!
Happy birthday, Eleanor!
I promise we’ll have a house with a guest room when you’re old enough to run away from your parents’ house!

I still kinda want that Andrew party… maybe next year?? Great pictures Amy, thanks!
Definitely a different cupcake experience this year as compared to last. In that she ate the cupcake instead of smashing it like a bug. Happy bday Eleanor!
So precious and cute. I love Eleanors outfit. Cute hooded towel. Looks like fun times.
