Last year I was out of town working, but this year I got to attend Andrew’s work holiday party ….
And I can see why he was raving about it for the last year.
We started about 6p on a Saturday night …. and didn’t get home until 3a the next morning.
Me! Can you believe it?
First, a stop at the studio for some wine, gift-exchanging, wine, and being picked up by the limo service. …
We had a dinner reservation (7:45p) at Capo – this amazing restaurant down in Santa Monica that Andrew can’t stop talking about. I only have a vague idea of where it is, since we were in the limo, but I would 100% go back.
It’s a small little restaurant (room for maybe 4o or 50 people), with a grill running all the time (it smells so good in there), and really great service.
The menu was overwhelming – especially because I was hungry.
I ended up getting the BBQ Romaine Caesar salad, the duck, and fresh fruit sorbet for dessert.
Andrew got Tuna Tartar, a filet, and fresh mini donuts for dessert.
heavenly.
After dinner, the limo was waiting for us to take us to the Bay Shore Bowling Center.
Yup, fancy-dress, been-drinking bowling.
I seriously love bowling. I would go all the time if somebody else paid for it …
(I have this thing, when I throw the bowling ball, I can’t actually watch it go down the lane. Instead I watch the faces of those I’m bowling with to gauge how well the throw is going).
We bowled 2 games.
- First game – boys v girls and we pretty much got our butt kicked.
- Second game – couples and Andrew and I won! ha ha!
Then back in the limo to go to Keith and Shannon’s apartment for a ‘night-cap’ …. then back to the studio to pick up our car … then in home in bed at 3a.
(and thank goodness Andrew had just bought a space heater with a timer on it because it.was.cold!)
9 hours of hanging out with co-workers voluntarily? Do you see now why Andrew loves his job so much?

You girls looked so cute in your fancy dresses and bowling shoes. Looks like a fun time.
Looks like a lot of fun. There is a bowling place in CA that is like a club. You have to be 21 or older to get in and you have to come dressed up– there’s a dress code. It’s located in a mall plaza. Darn I don’t remember the mall. But I really want to go there. Maybe next time I come up we can go and all get dressed up. I think that would be fun.
Good thing Andrew works close to home. I’m guessing you were the designated driver anyway. The dresses and bowling shoes were very cute!
