Fitting that today – Friday the 13th – we’re gonna talk about Halloween, right?

Angela and Devo’s reception for their friends and family in the United States was on a Saturday night, the weekend after they got back from their European honeymoon. Also, Halloween.

Andrew and I were in charge of picking up the big ol’ monster sheet cake for the reception (from SusieCakes, which we need to go back to). So big it actually had to ride in the bed of my truck. True story.

But luckily for us, the reception was pretty much right down the street from us. At the Monterey Clubhouse at Encino.

Somehow, I got out of helping set of for the par-tay by being at work … so walking in was the first time I saw any of this …

simple, understated elegance in orange and shades of brown and travel-themed highlights …. ..

Angela wore a cute Marilyn-Monroe-styled dress, while Devo wore suspenders and a skull-decorated tie. Both very Halloween-ish, right?

Angela’s mother made/decorated the cake. .. check it out below. 3 tiers. buttercreamed. decorated with floral pieces. Angela said it was fantastic …

I saw several old friends from high school who Angela has stayed in touch with …

So, our awesome friend Michael was in town this weekend (with his girlfriend, Christina, pictured below). Michael is the best! Plus Angela loves him too … it was so much fun to have him there.

{note: Andrew and I weren’t able to stay very late … we had to drive Michelle down to Anaheim. But going to this wedding was far better than any other Halloween activity we would have partaken in}
