Here are a few things that I’ve come across recently that can’t fill out an entire post, but are kinda cool anyways:
No Idea Records Specialty Coffee Blend
What?! The record label that brought Hot Water Music to the world has it’s own coffee blend? Don’t I have a million posts about my extreme love & devotion to coffee and punk rock and now the two are finally getting married! I was gonna order some but for whatever reason shipping is like 15 bones. Too much monies for now. Maybe if I order a bunch for work though…..or if I combine it with the No Idea mug. Love it.
Amy sent me this tattoo image. It’s pretty awesome, bats all over the wrist. For whatever reason I can never think of tattoos like this, mine are always chunky logos or something. Maybe because I’m not an artist….it does remind me to post that my next tattoo is probably gonna be a wrist tattoo. My giant robot tattoo is getting put on hold for a while, at least until I find an artist to draw out my elaborate plans.
Amy also sent me this picture of somebody putting on a record to cheer themselves up. And it definitely sounds like me. I rarely don’t have music on. But I think it’s amazing how sometimes 3 minutes of song can drastically change your mood or outlook on life.
That’s about it for the randomness today. Next week I need to post about seeing Them Crooked Vultures in concert, and maybe another Songs songs songs songs post about some simple songs I love.
oh, I guess also this Sunday Amy is gonna be out of town and my landlord is also gonna be out of town….perfect day to listen to Sunn O))) on stun and read some books. Amy would definitely not allow me to do that while she is home
Currently Listening to: John Coltrane & Don Cherry – The Avant-Garde (1967) LP
Thanks to my brother, Daniel, for letting me borrow this LP. I was just introduced to Don Cherry through the music of jazz trio/noise group The Thing. They did an entire boxset of music based on Don Cherry’s trumpet playing and compositions. Don Cherry is also the father of musician Eagle Eye Cherry who had a couple of hits in the late nineties or early years of the 21st century. John Coltrane I’m sure most of you are familiar with.
