Revised Italy Itinerary

We actually followed our itinerary pretty closely … we ended up seeing so much!

Take a look back at what we tentatively planned on doing; below is a rough outline of what we actually ended up doing (you can just imagine how many separate blog posts I am planning):

Saturday October 10 – Los Angeles

  • Flight leaves 7:10a

Sunday October 11 – Rome

  • 730a land in Rome
  • 9a drop off luggage at hotel
  • Church of St Cecilia
  • Church of St Maria
  • lunch
  • Pantheon
  • 3p back to the hotel to ‘check-in’
  • 3 hour nap
  • 7p out for gelato and people-watching

Monday October 12 – Rome

  • 730a out for breakfast cappucini since our b&b doesn’t serve breakfast til 830a
  • 8a try to check out of the hotel to get to our tour on time
  • 9a Colosseum and Forum (angeltoursrome.com)
  • walk back past Circus Maximus
  • lunch
  • 3p Rome to Florence train (4 hours)
  • 8p dinner in Florence with Angela, Devo and Virginia

Tuesday October 13 – Florence

  • 9a pre-Wedding festivities (wine tasting, lunch, etc)
  • 6p steps to top of Duomo
  • gelatto and resting
  • Andrew and Devo get us soup

Wednesday October 14 – Florence

  • 9a Andrew climbs to the top of Giotto’s tower
  • WEDDING
  • 7p Andrew and Devo walk back from reception (while the rest of us take cabs)

Thursday October 15 – Florence

  • 9a check out of hotel
  • walk by Dante’s House
  • 11a Santa Croce
  • Post Office
  • 12p Accademia (David and The Prisoners)
  • lunch
  • shopping
  • 3:13p Florence to Rome train (3 hours)
  • 8p Check into hotel, pizza, gelato and people watching

Friday October 16 – Rome

  • 9a breakfast
  • walk (passing Victor Emmanuel Monument and Trajan’s column)
  • 11a Cappuchin Crypts
  • Spanish Steps
  • walk across town to Vatican city (passing Hadrian’s mausoleum)
  • 130p-430p Vatican Museum/Sistine Chapel (Angeltours.com)
  • 430p St. Peter’s Basilica
  • Rick Steve’s Night Walk (Piazza Navona, Pantheon)
  • 8p dinner

Saturday October 17 – Rome

  • Flight leaves 10a
  • Lands at LAX 10:35p
