I think I'm more of the "whatever happens, happens" kind of person whenever Daniel and I have a trip. I love spontaneity, so you're not the worst travel planner. I think that that kind of attitude can make some of the best trips. Like when we took our road trip up to Idaho, we never knew how long we were staying in places or where we would stay that night we just went with our feelings and it turned out to be one of the best trips I've ever been on (but I love getting lost and finding wonderful things in the process). I blame this on Daniel though, whenever we are on a trip we never plan anything and just do what we are feeling for the moment and it always turns out incredible.

Andrew, It's so fun to see this trip thru your eyes. I'm so glad that you are liking to travel, because I think it would break Amy's heart if you didn't enjoy it. Terry and I share our roles. Usually, I handle all the details of getting us where we're going and making reservations for air, car, hotel, etc. Then Terry does a lot of the research on what we should do/see when we get there. Of course, he likes history and nature so those are his first focuses. We both come up with ideas of where we want to go, then work together to try to figure out what we have time for.

When I was in Germany for business I felt very similar. All I could think of was that I wished my family was there to share all the awesome history and architecture and adventure.

I also try to figure out how to move to all the places we visit...now I've decided that we just need to figure out how to live/work/travel in the hot months (5-6 months out of each year) so we can come back home to friends, family and church for part of every year.

I always want to move to wherever I'm vacationing too! I think I just love the idea of living in a new place where I don't know anyone. Although, I know that I probably wouldn't actually want to move away from friends and family. I usually settle for the idea of having vacation homes. So far I will be summering in South Africa, wintering in New Orleans, Springing in New York, and taking the occasional long weekend in Palm Springs. I really need to travel more. Mexico!
