I’m pretty not great at blogging. I just feel rushed or that what I want to say never comes out as genuine as I want it to sound. I’m drinking Hennessy right now to make me care a little bit less about my digital voice (actually Amy just called so I’m on the phone with her right now; ok now back to my blog) A couple of weeks ago my work took a wonderful evening trip to see Green Day at the forum. Here are a couple of write ups of the show. We were all pretty excited to see the band since we have a pretty special connection with the material. A few months back, right after the new record dropped we all went to see Green Day perform a small show at the Henry Fonda Theatre. It was a warm-up show of sorts for their upcoming tour. It was very compact compared to the venues that GreenDay perform in usually. It was very informal and fun and we were all interested to see how the real thing differed from that event. We started our night by eating at Ford’s Filling Station in Culver City. Excellent food. I had the pulled pork trenne pasta with a spicy pesto and a pomegranite jalapeno margarita. After dinner we all piled into the milk truck and headed to the forum. Our seats were the 2nd row to the left of the stage. Not great for sound quality, but we were pretty close and could feel the heat from when the explosions went off.
The show was incredible. These guys work so hard at what they do and really play their guts out. (Also, with the exception of the new material, they are still performing the same show as the American Idiot tour, unfortunately). Mostly it was just fun to be at a huge event of a show and sing my heart out and laugh with my co-workers, and have inside jokes about the crew of the show and the guys on stage. After the show, we all piled back into the milk truck and head to Johnnie’s Pastrami on Sepulveda for some midnight pastrami sandwiches and rootbeer. I love where I work and I think my co-workers and special lady friends of my co-workers are awesome. Here are some more pics that Keith took with his iPhone.

Cool stuff. Did Amy go too or was she at work?
I hope you’re keeping track of all these great places to eat so you can take us there when we come to visit.
