A couple weeks ago I went to the first of Angela’s bridal showers …. a ‘couples’ shower with Devo (without Andrew).
I was not requested or expected to take photos, but really. Who does Angela think she’s dealing with?
It was hosted in this cute (cute!) backyard in Pasadena by Devo’s best man Doug and his wife Serrina … I love this backyard. I love this neighborhood. I heard Doug say the house was from the 1940s. I could live here. I love the big lot, I love the cute house. It’s only 2+ times what we can afford …
moving on …
The shower was styled with orange details everywhere (Angela’s favorite color) with Italian food (both of their backgrounds+Italy wedding).
I *think* the lovely orange flowers in the backyard was just a coincidence … but a convenient one.
The tables were decorated with orange table runners and these fun, colorful centerpieces. I love how easy these look.
Not gonna lie, I took a lot of photos of the yummy Italian food. So much good food at this party. Chocolate fountain, pizza and salad, and the piece de resistance – the cake decorated as spaghetti and meatballs! You really need to look at it closely…. it’s so amazing….
Angela’s 2 nieces came with their mom … these little girls unfortunately will not be in Italy with us ..
(with grandma)
They made Bellinis …. champagne and peach juice …. in the perfect orange color to match the rest of the party decor…. love it.
Devo – not sitting with Angela. I suppose that is the problem with a couples shower when you invite “her friends” and “his friends” …. if only Andrew had been there …
So, as at most showers we played a game …. Just a tame one, and only one. But a game, never the less.
This is Serrina, introducing herself (still in her apron from cooking and preparing food all morning), explaining the game to us ….
Both Angela and Devo had been asked a series of questions, and we were to answer (our best guess) for each. Things like, “what is Angela’s favorite TV show?”
The problem with this is that every time I talk to Angela it is something different …. OK, not all the answers change. For example, I KNEW that she was born in 1980. …. but still …
I am proud to say that I – as the only maid of honor in attendance – won the prize for who knows the most about Angela. I think I got 4 right out of … 10?? Pretty sad, right?
So I’m going to use my winnings to take Angie for Starbucks before her final dress fitting ….
Devo and Doug
She did NOT want to open gifts in front of everyone….. but it’s one of the sacrifices you have to make when you get married and register for all sorts of fun stuff …
So fun. I love weddings. I love Angela. I can’t wait for Italy.
oh! But there’s another shower in the mean time….
