(Grant sent me this pic a few weeks ago. Warm weather is when he is on his boat pretty much every weekend)

“Reminded me of this story from Grant (all his words):

I was working on my boat at home.

In the boat was a rod with a lure on.

I bumped it and the lure was whipped into my fat gut.

I cut the line and my shirt but the hook had gone all the way through. I tried to cut the hook but it hurt. The hook has a barb and will not back out.

What I did have was a fillet knife.

It seemed like a good idea to cut it out.

So I pulled real hard on the lure and stretched the skin (like in a man called horse).

Took a couple whacks with the knife, all grissly, hurt like the dickens.

I did not want to sit in the emergency room with a large minnow lure stuck in my gut.

Worked great.”
