Yea, that’s what we call ourselves. Have I told you that yet?

Anyway, another break from England photos to tell you about mine and Andrew’s awesome weekend together.

Well, we thought it was pretty awesome. Some of you all might find it boring. But this is just how I roll …

There’s a ton of photos but they’re all from Sunday…. (warning: long post. I could have broken this up into a couple different posts/stories. But I didn’t)

Here’s the story.

Andrew’s boss celebrated his 50th bday this weekend. Kind of elaborate – surprise+Vegas AND Andrew’s cousin (in Vegas) was graduating college …. so long-story-short everyone went to Las Vegas except me …. I woke up Sat morning with the house to myself.

Andrew had planned to come back sometime Saturday (possibly going to work at his other studio while the boss was in Vegas) … but we didn’t know when.

Turned out he had gotten up SUPER early, drove all the way back from Vegas, and got home around 1030am !! Which means I got the whole day with him …

except he fell asleep.

Which, actually, is the likely reason I don’t really have any photos from Saturday.

we took a little walk around the corner to a garage sale (where I bought one of these for $20 – future post), we got lunch from Stonefire (tri-tip salad. yum yum), watched the rest of Venture Bros and Andrew fell asleep.

(sidenote: Andrew decided he wanted Venture Bros season 3 for his bday from me. So he went and bought it a week or so ago. Fine with me)

I woke him up around 4p … we got Menchie’s (this has been pretty much every weekend), watched The Reader, took Hazel on a short walk ….

And then the day was over, pretty much. Somewhere in there we played with Hazel outside and with our new pet ….

See? This is why I take so many photos! Because I can’t remember anything!

Anyway….

Sunday – after spending all day Sat together, Sunday morning we kind of had alone time. Andrew watched a movie (Twin Peaks) and I got on the computer for my various projects.

Showered, clean and time to play …

I think Hazel liked all the attention we gave her…

p.s. Andrew’s parents came home sometime on Sunday … 1p or so?

SO! Friday morning – after I woke up, before he left for Vegas – Andrew showed me our new pet. That morning, he had walked out the front door and a big spider kind of dropped into his face.

so he caught it. Put it in this plastic container …. and spent some time catching other bugs for it … (it was my idea to add the leaves, sticks, etc)

The spider you see in this photo is the FOOD spider … soon to be eaten …

You wouldn’t even believe how much our spider has eaten in the last few days. I keep telling Andrew that he’s going to kill it with food …. but …

ts-5

That’s another thing we did Saturday … watched our new spider … pretty much acted like 8 yr old boys. … super fun.

I’ve decided the Schuberts’ backyard is a menagerie … . tortoise, dog (sometimes 2 dogs), fish in the pond, bird’s nest on the porch and now our spider …

Ok. brace yourself.

A good pic of ‘our’ spider. Andrew calls him/her Spider … as in “Let’s go see what Spider is doing!”

Yep. That’s him. Big. Beige. Hairy. …. seriously, big enough that we can SEE HIS EYES … . how often do you find a spider that big? This thing dropped into Andrew’s face … can you just imagine?

Figure out how many other bugs you can see in that pic? … our spider ate ALL of them…

eating a beetle ….

I think it’s sucking out its blood …

(and zoomed in)

Holy Geez.

So, we pretty much just spent our weekend together in the backyard.

Hazel got plenty of attention, don’t worry about her.

It’s sometimes hard to describe exactly what Hazel does …. when she’s playing with you, and wants you to chase her … she’ll lie/sit in one spot … wait til you get close enough and then rear back and GO …

Here’s just a lucky shot of her getting geared up to run off like a greyhound …

Bizarre angle to the ground, no?

ts-22

Hazel being weird (in a different way than usual):

There was this spot on the ground that she was smelling and pawing at …

ts-23

… and finally decided she had to roll in …

ts-24

ts-25

ts-26

no idea why.

ALSO on Sunday ….

Andrew figured out how to digitize his vinyl …

that boy is so cool – you don’t even know.

And THEN we made the trek out to Simi Valley for pastrami from The Hat.

good music-talk in the car.

It’s nice being married to your best friend.

Wound up this day playing Scrabble w/ Julie …

whew!

long post.
lovely weekend.

I hope you can appreciate and picture just how giddy and happy Andrew and I both were to get to spend 2 whole days together. So rarely happens …

Spider looks like a type of tarantula. Maybe you should call it Tarany.

And now it’s enclosed itself in that thick web. I think it might be shedding since it ate so much over the past week, it’s probably getting bigger.
    Also
great weekend. I loved just hanging out with you and being married.xox

I wonder what was on the grass that made Hazel decide to rub herself all over that one area. This is the first time I have seen her do that. Is she trying to cover the scent with her scent or pick up a scent? Maybe Courtney knows why dogs do that.

Spending so much time with Andrew made you so happy, I noticed a difference. You were happily annoying and giddy at the same time. I liked it.
