  • I wish I was the White House photographer .. or one of them
  • Urban exploration (plus history) … love it.
  • If you want to read a sweet, touching story that will have you bawling – check out this adoption story (Lyndsie is one of my friends from high school)
  • I didn’t miss watching the NBA playoffs until I saw this post. It’s not even any teams that I care about. But just that first little clip …. so sad for my sunnies.
  • Although, Steve Nash is taking this break to twitter and blog on facebook like a crazy person – picking his top 5 sports books, top 5 biographies, asking for recommendations, tweeting about playing soccer in Hawaii w/ his little girls. It’s pretty awesome.
  • Neighbors moved out. Foreclosure I think. I told Andrew we’d buy the house next door to his parents if we could get it for less than $200,000 … which I’m sure we couldn’t get.
  • I think I pinched a nerve in my neck while sleeping Thursday night … once again, I’m reminded how nice it is to be healthy ONLY when there’s something wrong.
  • Andrew’s boss is going to Europe for 6 weeks. … I already asked if he needs a photographer.
  • No idea what Andrew’s going to do for those 6 weeks. … it’s going to be a mish-mash of all kinds of jobs/commitments, I think.
  • I LOVE that I’ve been able to find Rick Steves books in their entirety on Google books … don’t know how Mr. Steves feels about it, of course.
  • your trivia for the day — Pope Leo X (who excommunicated Martin Luther) and Pope Clement VII (who excommunicated King Henry VIII) were cousins. Both Medicis (of whom I have recently been reading).
  • I want to read about the history of the Catholic church…. any recommendations?
  • Dreams of Flying by Jan Von Holleben – so fun … and very much reminded me of Son of Rambow … which you should all see.
  • I’ve been there. Not unfortunately on this day though … photos to come.
  • made myself go to work with a cold this week … mostly because I don’t want to use my sick days if I don’t have to, and because the whole time I had food poisoning I kept thinking how much I’d rather have a head cold than nausea because I could work through it.
  • Andrew is going a bit crazy with the CD cataloging … I don’t even understand it.
  • the other night I dreamt I had a polaroid camera … I wish it wasn’t a dream.
  • I 2nd shot a wedding on Sunday … so nice to just be able to be creative w/ no pressure, minimum responsibility. I think I did a good job … we’ll see.

I totally forgot to tell y’all one of my England stories … from Sat night. This is my ‘Ugh England, why do you make me so mad’ story:

Sat night, we were on our walking tour and Miranda got a text from an unknown source. Someone who clearly knows her, but Miranda didn’t have the phn# saved in her phn.

Text: “I’m out at a pub doing a pub quiz and I think you might know this one. What state was JFK assassinated in?”

Um, yea, I know that one. I know my trivia (thanks dad), I’ve seen JFK, I’ve read Jackie Kennedy’s biography 2x. I know this one.

So, I told Miranda to text back “Dallas, TX”

she did, and we didn’t hear anything else for awhile.

Later that night, Miranda texted (still trying to figure out who this was) asking how the pub quiz went….

the answer we got back?

Text: “No, sorry. That was wrong. It was Memphis, TN”

WHAT?!!!!?!?/

SO mad. So annoyed. So infuriated on behalf of whoever this person was who was told that their correct answer was wrong.

And there was nothing I could do about it.

Stupid England – thinking they know U.S. history … grrrr….

(not that it actually matters. This was a pub quiz on a Sat night, after all)

want to read more?
