England – the Thames – Apr 6

7 May 2009 by Amy One Comment

On Monday — a month ago now! — we headed back into London for my final full day there.

Because of the plan for the day, I didn’t really need to get a rail pass (for the Tube), so when our train arrived at Waterloo station we just walked into London from there ….

The station is on the side of the Thames with the London Eye so we got a good view of that

Then you turn a corner and across the Thames is Parliament and Big Ben!

THE iconic structures in London …. it was about 930am at this pic and just lovely….. such a fun site first thing in the morning …

can’t you just picture Peter Pan flying around up there?

We walked across Westminster Bridge, past Big Ben and Parliament, and into Parliament Square … where this well-known statue of Churchill lives.

Also in Parliament square are statues of other statesmen (like Abraham Lincoln) …

Next up is Westminster Abbey … my favorite part of my trip.
