after Trafalgar square we walked … and walked.
The original idea was to find a locksmith, since Miranda had to make a copy of a key … but we kind of just walked without finding one.
We decided to go to St. James Park.
Kind of on a whim – and I have to tell you this was another of my favorite parts of the trip….
We crossed the street – with Buckingham Palace at the end, lined with flags – to the park …..
Near where we entered the park, there was just this booth/stand/street food type-thing.
And we got ice cream …. and sat on the grass … and people watched in St. James Park on a Monday afternoon.
It was such a fun, unexpected highlight that I never would have enjoyed if I was strict about my itinerary….
[in the photo above - by Miranda - there is a family sitting under the tree to the right of the frame. See them? So fun to watch. 2 moms and I think 3 or 4 kids under 5yrs old. The oldest - in the yellow shirt w/ the curly hair - was the ring-leader. Organizing the games. Leading the annoyingness. That 'Move it' song from .... I think the movie Madagascar? Yea, he sang that over and over, jumping up and down. ... and the moms were just talking and ignoring him .... pretty hilarious.]
people watching:
throwing around a football, reading, napping ….
Plus the weather was just gorgeous …
(I have nothing more to say about our time in St. James Park. It was just lovely.)

Why do you keep flaunting your blue Mickey scarf at me? I love it. I want one.
Love these pics! It does look like gorgeous spring weather. I also love the Mickey scarf. You can get me one for my birthday.
I had to laugh Amy… do you see the comments that Nancy & I made a year ago when you first posted this? We both wanted the Mickey scarf that you’re wearing… and now WE BOTH HAVE OUR VERY OWN!! Hope you don’t mind:)
But I have to say that recently I spend a couple hours re-reading my England posts and loving every moment of re-living those memorable moments. So I just may have to do that with your England posts. Your pictures are sooo amazing!
