Get lost in Heathrow – good lord that place is huge
Meet Miranda at Costa Café – terminal 5 (Heathrow)
Train to Egham
Shower
nap
walk into Egham, High Street
dinner
walk around Royal Holloway campus – lose lens cap

Saturday April 4 – London
St. Paul’s Cathedral
walk to the monument to the Great Fire
walk to/visit Tower of London
Lunch
British Museum
Dinner at a pub
London walk 730 (Ghosts of the Old City)
Back to Egham
Sunday April 5 – Cotswolds
train leaves Egham 920a
(via Reading) arrive in Moreton-in-Marsh 1130a
walk around a bit down the tiny High Street
pick up bikes
bike ride to the Batsford Arboretum
lunch at the arboretum
luxurious walk through arboretum
bike ride back to Moreton-in-Marsh (downhill!)
visit a Lord of the Rings “exhibit” which is really just shopping
wander High Street looking for unique gifts/souvenirs (in vain)
tea/cakes at The Marshmallow
call bike rental guy and tell him we’d like him to pick up the bikes early (since everything is closed by 5p)
train back to Egham
Monday April 6 – London
Westminster Abbey
Walk up Whitehall
decide not to go to the Churchill/WW2 museum (too much monies)
Lunch (in the crypt cafeteria at St Martin in the Fields)
1p concert at St Martin in the Fields
Trafalgar Square
National Portrait Gallery
St. James Park – ice cream cone and people watching in the gorgeous weather
walk around trying to find a locksmith (in vain)
also keeping eyes peeled for someplace to shop for unique gifts/souvenirs (in vain)
I walked back to Trafalgar square (people watching) while Miranda went to Oxford station to the locksmith
National Gallery
Dinner at the cafe at the National Gallery
walk back down Whitehall
road/sidewalk closures due to demonstration by the Tamil Tigers
London walk (7p) Old Westminster by Gaslight
After the walk, had to go out of our way (due to the demonstration) to get to Waterloo station. Saw some WW2 monuments on the way (bank of the Thames)
Back to Egham
Tuesday April 7
Slept in
