working

Hello, so I’m at work. But I figured maybe I should blog. I feel like I’m in a creative rut at the moment. Maybe it’s all the television shows I’m trying to watch and all the records I’m trying to listen to and the lists and books…..or maybe I’m just feeling overwhelmed.
So I’m going to try to do one creative activity everyday. Today I cut out two stencils for my next t-shirt I’m going to make. The shirts I make are pretty simple, usually just a hand-cut stencil and some spraypaint. If you want me to make one for you, just email me an image and I’ll do my best. Oh and maybe a shirt in your size.
I also want to learn to crochet ( I think either Amy, my mother, or the Guzzler will help me with this) or maybe Michelle will help me.
Maybe my creative activity will be using Pro Tools more often, or writing a song and recording it. I don’t know. Whatever, like I said I feel kind of in a rut and I’m frustrated……sigh.
Also
I’ve been listening to some country music lately (pop country on occasion) and it makes me feel sad in a way that no other music makes me feel. Strange how it makes me want to evaluate my life and the choices I’ve made. Bizarre. I love traditional country music, or old-timey country music like Loretta Lynn, Pasty Cline, Dwight Yoakam.
hahahahahahaahahaha
I’m not lame
Also, I kind of want to start a record club. Get together with friends once a week or month or whatever and listen to one record and just hang out and drink some whiskey and just relax. Is anyone interested in starting this with me?
I’ll post a picture of my new shirt later this week as soon as I bust out the spray cans and paint it. It is an edition of 1.
Here is a song that I love very much (the video is nothing, just pictures)

I feel the exact same way lately (creative wise)

I feel like I’m not happy unless I am making something (hence all the mess I keep in a corner at your guys house).

It’s sort if therapeutic. AND the listening to record thing sounds like fun.

Andrew, you have got to talk to my friend, John Lynch about their music appreciation group. I think you would love it. Here are a couple of sites about it.

Most of these guys are from our church. I’m sure they’d love to tell you about their fun.

    Whiskey, really?

Oh, and I actually grew up around old fashioned Country and Western music. Our family had friends that sang and played. They were a duo called Red and Roselle. Now if that’s not country, I don’t know what is. They used to sing a song that James Taylor later did called “She thinks I still care”. Now every time I hear him do it, I think of that duet with the strong country twang. James T. described it as a song that would make your dog weep or make your roof leak. What great memories!

No you’re not lame. I love that you appreciate such a wide range of music. You have a very open mind about it.

She has a beautiful voice. The song made me cry.
    I love you.

You’re not lame. Pretty fun actually. I know what you mean about ruts. I’m in one too. I feel stuck and want to be more creative and do more things. It’s really frustrating when you have limited time. Best of luck to you and your creative adventures. BTW I’m coming out for my birthday. Quick visit, consisting of 3 days including 1 day of Disneyland and two days of driving. Pencil me in friend?
