Saturday I had no definite plans.
I spent the morning editing photos (keep on plugging away), and in the afternoon met up with Angela to hang out a bit and take pics of her jewelry for her site.
Also got to FINALLY meet her boyf – Devo. He’s everything she said he would be. Awesome.
And the couple they are living with right now has this dog … Sophie. Crazy French Bulldog who has some kind of respiratory problem, cause she is constantly (I mean constantly) making these half growling, half snoring noises … hilarious!
Saturday night I had time to edit a few more photos before Andrew got home … then we watched Pet Sematary … oooh … spooky!
What is funny is, the part Andrew remembers being scared to death of (the woman with spinal meningitis) after watching the movie when he was little .. is not scary at all now …. He warned me about it and I almost laughed when we got to that scene.
Sunday morning – we went to Lombardi’s Ranch!!! Last year, I believe it was closed because of the brush fires. But it was opened Sunday!
We only stayed about 1/2 hour or so … it was too too windy. And expensive. Nothing to do that didn’t cost $$ (except looking at farm animals in cages) … I really wanted some fresh, hot corn on the cob, but the wind was blowing all sorts of dust all over the place. And you really shouldn’t eat in dust.
This gal was eye-balling me the whole time…
All my barnyard animal photos are a little depressing, because you can see the fence/cage … no getting around that.
But there were chickens and pigs, and geese, and a turkey … a llama … I forget what else …
Lombardi’s – every year – has a Scarecrow contest. I was totally excited to see all the scarecrows. There are always some scary ones, and some pop culture ones. This year, though, I don’t know. Seems like they have started charging for scarecrow alley (which they didn’t last time I was there). And we didn’t want to pay for it …
But, there was a few lonely scarecrows hanging about ….
After Lombardi’s we headed home and took Hazel for a walk …
After the walk, we had enough time to eat some lunch before heading down to Studio City to hang out with the Keegan Grosses at Menchie’s …
(Maggie has some pics of Andrew and I on her blog. After all, if there are no pictures, it didn’t happen)
Eleanor is almost one. She is such a trooper … we talked straight through her naptime.
Headed back home around 3 or 330 or so … One the way home, just about 1/2 a block from home, there was a little boy (6 or 7 years) selling Hot Chocolate in a little street-side stand (assisted by his mother, don’t worry). So, OF COURSE we had to stop ….
I asked for 2 ($1 total) and then Andrew handed me 50 cents for a tip. And the boy asked what a tip is. I told him it’s a little bit extra so he will bring the drinks all the way to the car (about 7 or 8 feet). He walked back to the table (his mom) and I heard him say, “This is the best day ever!” …. super cute.
Too bad the hot chocolate was actually cold by that time of day. Oh well.
Back at home, we watched Vertigo, took a nap, had dinner … then I worked on editing photos (still) while Andrew watched Resident Evil (1
& 2).
Full full weekend. …
This coming weekend I don’t think I have any plans yet, but I’m sure we’ll fill it up somehow.

Cute pictures. Especially of Eleanor. She is getting so big.
The picture of all the pumpkins would be way cooler if all those pumpkins were zombies!
Sad to see that Lombardi’s has gotten so greedy…charging to walk in their field? Sad, sad. There’s a similar place near here. Schnepf Farms – Haven’t been there yet, but they also sell chili this time of year. Sounds like it might be fun to go once. Then we’ll take the grandkids someday.
it is sad that they charge now, but i think if my entire property burnt down and i had to pay for it all to be rebuilt and havent charged for years and years before, i think that it makes sense, sad, but maybe one day it will go back.
