SoCal Vignettes – Bishop, CA Vintage Signs

Future personal photo project: On the way to Bishop are several small towns. Small small. Sometime, we’re going to take a trip up to Bishop and stop at all the small towns so I can take pics of the motel signs. There are a lot more than you would expect in a town that size (although, it is near Mammoth and Mt. Whitney). Plus the vast majority are very vintage. Very 1950s or ‘60s. and I LOVE them.

I guess this is the only movie theater in town, and they only get 2 movies at a time … which is completely ludicrous to someone like me who has only ever lived in the city …

grew up in Bishop and while, yes, that is the only theater, and, yes, there are only 2 movies at one time (and they often don’t’ changes for weeks) the sign isn’t vintage 50s. In fact my Dad built the movie theater addition in the 80s. Bishop is a very small, kind of oldish town but mostly it’s very dedicated to *seeming* like an old town.

Great sign pictures all the same :)
