He went to Target yesterday to pick up some stuff (that’s reason #17), and while he was there picked up a few little presents to surprise me (reason #112) –

3 packs of basketball cards!! I haven’t bought basketball cards since I was 10 or 11 … I had forgotten how much fun it was to open and see how lucky you are …
Among other players, I got
-Carlos Boozer (those eyebrows)
-Manu Ginobili (who I like despite his being on the Spurs)
-Marcus Camby (Defensive player of the year!)
-Dirk Nowitski (MVP runner up?)
-Nene (I love that he goes by one name — the card only says Nene)
-Kurt Thomas (aka Crazy Eyes)
-Jalen Rose (I think he should be interviewed more … he seems really nice and smart)
-Dwayne Wade (who may be my favorite non-Suns player)
-Rasheed Wallace (Wild-eye Wallace)
What fun!
So, I dug out my big box of basketball cards from years ago … I’ve got a ton of good ones … I have no idea what I’m going to do with them. Maybe I’ll check some ebay prices. … they are still in pretty good condition … Larry Bird, Michael Jordan, Magic Johnson, etc, etc. …
any other thoughts?
You got some great new cards!
Hold on to the old ones for a while longer if you really think you want to sell them. The longer you wait, the more they’ll be worth because more people will have thrown theirs away. We still have some at the house, but I think they’re Kevin’s, right? Do you have all of yours?
If you don’t want to hold on to yours, give them to us to hold and when we die or when your kids need to go to college, you can get them to sell…
