Just a couple pics from this weekend …
we arrived at the Grand Canyon about 10am on Sunday … and Andrew said it looked like a matte painting! …. No matter how many times you see it, it’s always hard to grasp the reality of the canyon …
We ate breakfast/lunch at the Bright Angel Lodge coffeehouse — side note: we got tables by the canyon-viewing window for every single meal. nice.
Then, we hiked a bit down the canyon … Andrew kept saying he wanted to go “down in” …

more hiking … visited the museums around the place … saw a bunch of elk … both Sunday afternoon and Monday morning …
Andrew and I got our Passport to the National Parks … which my parents have, but now I need one of my own … I’m really excited to go all those places w/ Andrew …

Hotel room –
Tri-pod fun …
(you can’t tell, but Andrew’s book is upside down)
Really, I think the best part about the Grand Canyon was the food … Andrew said he wants to go down in there and “search the whole grand canyon” …

Oh man, I LOVE the Grand Canyon!
Your pics captured my hearts longing to be there!!
What a wonderful way to celebrate your anniversary… exploring the Canyon together!
So happy for you guys!
The last picture is so artsy…
you guys are the cutest of my recently married cousins (shhh…don’t tell kevin and erin…or heather and davis!)
i think you two should send out christmas cards or letters this year…with pics of course!
Donna and I were just at Grand Canyon for my birthday! We went on a couple of ranger tours that were pretty cool/kinda funny. The lady kept shouting because she’s used to big groups, and she told us about the “fifth dimension” of the canyon.
I’m really excited that you and Andrew are doing so well. You two are the best.
So do I need to tell Andrew that you don’t like to hike? How about if we go to the north rim some time and let Andrew and Dad go “down in” and we can hang out at the top and take pictures. Of course, Dad won’t be able to keep up with Andrew, but they’ll have fun. Or better yet, maybe we should go to Havasupai…but then you’d have to hike.
The first pic would be a great one for a Christmas letter!
